If you’ve ever wanted to make a fancy-looking tropical dessert or sweet appetizer with minimal effort, this is it. I had some pineapple jam in my fridge, prepared using Gen’s recipe, some frozen puff pastry and a party to go to within a few hours; the combinations of these things resulted in these delicious pineapple tartlets.
Pineapple tartlets
Ingredients
- pineapple jam
- 1 puff pastry
- 1 egg
- some water
Directions
1. | Follow the instructions on the package to defrost the puff pastry and spread it out |
2. | Cut the pastry into large squares, with smaller squares indented about 1/4 in from the edges |
3. | Fold in each side of the squares so you end up with smaller squares with elevated edges, thus forming a nest |
4. | Fill the center of the nest with pineapple jam |
5. | Brush the edges of the nest with some egg wash prepared by adding a litte bit of water to an egg yolk |
6. | Bake the tarts following the instructions on the pastry package, the edges should turn golden |
