Ingredients

- salt
- Boiled water (half a pan)
Directions
1. | Cut the yam in 4 or 5 big chunks horizontally. |
2. | Using a sharp knife, cut off the skin of the yam chunks in order to remove part of the yam itself (about 0.2 inch); |
3. | Cut each chunk of the yam in half vertically and remove the heart of the yam if it has little dots (that part is usually a bit bitter-tasting) |
4. | Wash and carefully drain the yam. |
5. | Cut the halves of the chunks in smaller semicircles (according to your taste). |
6. | Boil the yam for about 10 minutes or until you can prick the yam with a fork. |
7. | Drain the boiled pieces into a strainer for a few minutes |
8. | Add a little bit of salt. |
9. | Serve hot as a side dish, along with roasted chicken for example. Enjoy! |
