Cucur Udang
Ingredients
- ~1/4 lb (100g) of fresh prawns
- 1/2 cup cooked corn kernels
- 100g (1 cup) of flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 green onions thinly chopped
- turmeric
- 2-3 seeded red chili or a dash of red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pepper to taste
Directions
1. | Mix the flour, baking powder, water, salt and pepper until you obtain a smooth consistency |
2. | Add the corn, green onions, red pepper flakes and chopped prawns, and mix |
3. | Heat up about 1 cm of oil in a shallow pan. Drop a spoonful of the mixture in the oil once it’s hot. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan |
4. | Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown |
5. | Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil |
